Dr Vasanta Nanduri is a consultant paediatrician at West Herts Teaching Hospitals Trust, with specialisation in Oncology and Endocrinology.
She is an experienced paediatric leader with a longstanding commitment to training, assessment, and professional development. She has played a key role in the evolution of the MÂé¶¹´«Ã½ and DCH examinations and START assessment over the past 20 years. She was previously the Officer for Examinations.
As Head of School of Paediatrics for the East of England (2020 -2026), she oversaw the expansion and success of the programme, increasing recruitment and retention. She champions excellence, equity, and inclusion in postgraduate education. Her leadership has helped shape national assessment strategy, support trainee wellbeing, and drive innovation in paediatric training and assessment.
Her Trust leadership roles include Clinical Director for Paediatrics and Divisional Director for Women’s and Children’s services where she made significant and long lasting contributions. She is a trained Coach and Mentor.
Vasanta is recognised around the world as an expert in histiocytic disorders, contributing to international advisory panels and multicentre research. She is currently President of the Histiocyte society.
